Default shipping thoughts please

I just sold the 911 (I know its 3/4 of a motor and all that...) and it is being shipped from Florida to California. Any and all thoughts about shipping companies for safe transport are appreciated - well most any...

I thought DAS did me well, until I looked closer. Don't have a clue who to use, but I know who I won't use.

Agreed. I was very disappointed with DAS. I have used them twice, once was okay but very slow. When they shipped my 928, though, I paid for top-berth and didn't get it. Here are some photos from that experience.

I won't use them again.

That was my problem, paid for top load, extra fast get here. over a week and a dinged up car for $1100.00 from Arizona to Texas.

I replied favorably on yours, but when I compared pictures (which they didn't provide) I had a lot more issues when I compared paperwork a few months later. Didn't bring it up and chalked it up as a loss for my own lack of research.

Mike -
I just went through this a couple months ago. Burned twice by brokers that couldn't deliver a transporter during the 3-day window. It was then, I started looking up reviews on the internet. Recommend you check out:
http://www.transportreviews.com/comp...ving-autos.asp

The top rated company was called Angels so I used them. Perfect service, great staff, constant contact throughout shipment and even followed-up to make sure I was satisfied. I shipped my car uncovered from Virgina to San Antonio--price was around $800. Shipping it covered would have raised the price to $1,200.

Good luck,
Bruce

Intercity, Pilot Transport and Horseless Carriage are all good. I've had experience with the first two.

DAS is awful to deal with, based on my past experience

I used DAS to move my Porsche and 2 other cars from Cali to the East Coast 6 years ago. They were OK, however, I am very suspicious that someone there fraudulently used my credit card (not many others knew we were moving at that time AND had our CC number). Unproven, but I am now a bit wary on that end of things.

We got our cars and they appeared to be in satisfactory condition. We took photos of the cars while dropping off so they knew we were paying close attention. DAS got the job done for us.

Just used Fed-Ex Passport auto transport for Blue82. Worked out GREAT! Very reasonable fees and pretty quick shipping... 10 days from Seattle to Austin...

I've used a bunch of different shippers, one was "Advensed Auto Shipping" ... intentional spelling And they did fine, all of them.

I've used Intercity twice for Porsche transport. No complaints.
