When do you hear the clicking? Ignition key on start position or when you have the ignition on?

Start position: My guess is the starter

Ignition on: ECU Brain

it is the starter solinoid clicking from lack of power, and yes everything else could work fine.

only clicks when trying to engage the starter. Key in furthest right position. I am going to buy a trickle charger tonight and take the battery out and charge overnight.

Check the ends of the positive battery cable at the battery and starter. I've had to replace both of mine due to corrosion under the insulation.

Sounds more like a bad starter solenoid.

Do you test for that by applying power directly to the starter, bypassing the starter solenoid?

Apply power to the solenoid and check for current towards the starter. It is nothing more than a solenoid that engages the starter gear into the flywheel and acts as a relay as soon as this position is reached.

Note to self: Stop charging battery by attaching charger to jump post.

I took out the battery and hooked it up to a small 1A charger for 7 hours. Started up the first try. I'll probably get a new battery for next season.

Not to go too off topic, I noticed a small button on the underside of the gauge pod below the ignition slot. My manual is missing a few pages. What is it for?

Sounds like the intensive washer button.
