I know tires have been discussed once or twice, but I am getting ready to buy a new set, since the only place I could get to align my car, that also sells tires is a firestone store, I am looking at two options.
Option one, is the "firehawk wide ovals" this is an updated version of a tire I had five years ago, that I liked except for lousy tread life. I could throw the car into a cloverleaf without worrying too much about slowing down, and they were fair in the rain, which is a consideration here in Seatttle.
Option two is the Potenza RE960 tires, supposed to be much better, "dual layers" of tread material for extended life, lots of fancy acronyms in the little pamphlet.
I was really wondering if anyone here had any experience with the potenzas, since I had a set of the earlier version of the firehawks, I pretty much know what to expect there.
Thanks for any info!

I have the RE050s on the front right now, great tire lots of grip once tire and pavement are really hot.
Dont notice any lack of grip on the street with it. Just abit of understeer on the track as I only have 235 up front as they came on the rims. The understeer is almost completely removed with slightly more trail braking, and once the tires, and track is upto full temps.

Thanks for all the info, I will probably end up with the Potenzas, seems like a thumbs up from the people who have used them.
