88' S4 tail light socket
Hey Guys,
from searching the forum, this seems to be a common problem. Yes, my tail light socket contact has corroded away. Does anyone have a used harness or socket they could sell. The socket in question is the black one.
Or is there any replacement socket that would work. I read one post about Pep Boys maybe carrying, but I didn't see any confirmation.
Thanks in advance
Travis

If you don't need the dual filament (Brake/Marker) you may need to find the equivalent single filament version (marker only) for the villager - I'd assume it has one...
OR worst case use a dual filament bulb and connect to the marker terminal only... hardly any difference in bulb costs.

The outer 2 of 4 rear bulb sockets on a pals S4 died due to corrosion of the spring loaded +12V contact: lacking any fresh sockets, and with his Safety inspection due, I soldered a pigtail to fresh bulbs and fed the ends through the back of the socket to be soldered into the harness. With a dab of silicon to seal .... these bulbs should last another 15 years - or until he finds some sockets , whichever comes first.
