Default Pics for the kiddos on 9-28

I invited the owner to come and bring his car to Celebrate 928s on 9-28 (a/k/a Hooters on Sunday), unfortunately he and his wife had previous plans. HOWEVER, his wife was nice enough to send me these pics to me so I can print out to give to the kids that are coming to Sunday's event.

I hope I print enough.

P.S. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE VETTE-MOBILE.

That thing is badass. I hope he stays in touch. I would love to see that thing run in person. It probably would light the hair I have remaining on fire and put a smile on my face.

One has to wonder, after how many changes is a car not considered what it was and is now something else? Like those nascar "stock" cars, that have headlights and body features painted on their fiberglass shells to look like actual cars...

I think it's an interesting story and a tremendous accomplishment to Dan Humphries - who built something that nobody had done before, campaigned it, and made it competitive and unique. He had any number of looks, but he choose the 928. Unfortunately Dan was met with less than enthusiastic support (disdain) from the members of the 928 rennlist listserve of the day (before web forums), and so we didn't get to hear much about it.

...still lurking. Sterling, Colin, and Ken have cleaned me out of all things 928.
I keep the memories.
...and two (l,r) 928 doors, with interior panels, dunkelblau...

That's not a Murf... it's a Renegade. I think it's cool. I remember when he built it up. It appears he has improved it too, to include flames. Flames man, flames.... gotta love flames.

and you will still get less than overwhelming support........even with today's r-list, P-parts, 928 r us-forums.

P-car owners (regardless of flavor) are less forgiving than those of other sporting venues when it comes to this type of modification.

Nothing personal towards anyone here, but that's just the way it is.

Make a modification from stock, and you'll get lost of boohoo's and very little support for something different.

Now if the guy had done this with a 928 motor in it, that would be something the natives would rave about.

I personally like the car.

Damn you are a bitter man Russ.

This guy made a drag car and put the best shape on it. A 928. I'm sure most of us admire it. I think the car kicks ***.

I LOVE IT! I love that ANYONE takes the time to do a SERIOUS conversion and use a 928 for the base! I hope he can bring it to OCIC next year! Or at least make it available and maybe someone can rent, beg, borrow or steal a trailer and bring it up for display for him! It was be awesome! I would also LOVE to see the 4 door car, some cabs, wide bodies, 6 wheel crazy thing, 928 truck! I would LOVE TO SEE THEM ALL! I seriously thought about buying Anderson's 928 truck many years ago! And as noted in another thread I was THIS CLOSE to buying the 4 door S4 5 or 6 years ago for $25k and then two years later I see it on Barrett-Jackson go for $45k!

Anyway, PLEASE, SOMEONE, GET THAT 928 DRAG CAR TO OCIC!
