Default $1,000 rescue or parts car?

Just passing this on as it might be of interest. Doesn't even say if it's a 5 speed or auto.

Porsche 928 for sale. The car is not in running condition. I was told by my mechanic that all it need to start running was a new fuel pump. The car is in ok condition. I can get the engine to turn over but that is it. This is a project car and it is being sold as is. My granfather passed away 4 years ago and left this to me. I do not have the pink slip for the car. The new owner will have to go through the necessary channels to get the car put in their name. I am selling the car as is and resume no responsibility once the car has been purchased.
That said: when the car ran it was a fun car to drive. It needs all new tires and someone who can tune up the enigine to make it run. Would be a great project car for the right porsche enthusiast. Or, you could take the parts off and sell them on ebay. $1000 fiim is what I am asking. Please do not email me if you are looking to low ball me.

Wish it was local to me, I am likely to spend $1000 in parts in any given month

Anybody round Fountain Valley should check it out...........bring a FP relay and some fuses and see if she fires, the fork over $1000 and drive away

I emailed him a couple days after the ad went up and he said he had a few people coming to look at it, so I didn't bother. If it's still available and someone wants me to go take a look, let me know.

GUYS HE HAS NO TITLE !!! and no intention of getting one ! With a comment like this..."I am selling the car as is and resume no responsibility once the car has been purchased. ..." The title is still in his grandfather's name and gramps is not going to be signing anything anymore.... California would want all the back fees and penalties on the registration if one tried to register it here. It is , at best , a parts car... Buying a car any car without a title is a risky business it might just be stolen or have a loan lien against it.... There is a reason why cars have titles and it has to do with legally transfering ownership... You cannot even junk a car without a title !

Yes, it would be a risky proposition at best and probably a paperwork nightmare if you wanted to get it titled, even if it wasn't stolen. I've spent enough time at the DMV lately to know that I don't want to go back again anytime soon. The whole "work slowdown" they've got going on here has made a bad situation a real nightmare.

This car came up on Jalopnik yesterday in Project Car Hell - i think the overall assessment was that this would make a beater track car at best - its pretty tired...

Are you saying I was in the DMV the other week for 3 hours because they are PURPOSELY slowing it down?

I'm saying I was in there for close to 6 a month ago to license the 928 and take care of something to do with my DL.

They've announced that because of the budget cutback, salary cuts and loss of overtime they're not in a big hurry to do anything and what used to pass for customer service there is now a thing of the past.

Make an appointment if there's anything you need to do in person.

I used AAA not long ago and my , my what a pleasant experience. In and out in 10 minutes for a registration. A couple months earlier (with an appointment) I spent an hour at DMV ... When I factor in the "free" 100 mile towing and the ability to get DMV work done easily membership really is a good deal

AAA is the only way to go. However, if you have anything out of the ordinary you have to go to DMV. The hassle factor has to be included in the price of the car.
