Glad you got her going. It was just mad because you didn't bring it to dyno day. It will be much worse than a loose relay if you don't make it next year.

Point well taken . I'm definitely making it next time, but hopefully there'll be more get togethers before then so I can meet some of you guys. Wow, I love the picture of your 928s. Every time I see it I get jealous and cry...

Next time pull the relays one at a time so you can id the culprit. It may have just been the contacts w/i the panel, but you may have an intermittant as the relay goes kaput. That means you will be hunting again. They have a moving armature, they get old and unpredictable. The "53" is now $12. spares are prudent.

while your in the CE panel area close the lid and look above the CE panel under the dash you will be looking at the bottom of the Blower box if you find any traces of corrosion on the screws then its a good bet that you CE panel has been getting wet from a leaking BB seal this will mean that you need to remove the lower portion to reseal it you can get new sealant from the auto body supply use 3M strip caulk.
The blower motor does not have to be removed 9 It will stay in place) only remove the 2 screws that secure it, one is on the far pass side out side of the motor housing and the other is inside the blower duct both have 8mm heads there is also on longer blower securing screw ( 8mm head) that is inserted from the bottom of the blower box and dont forget to disconnect the blue vacuum line at its connection point just in front of the expansion valve of the HVAC unit this hose will come out with the blower box, and put a towel down over the CE panel so all of the debris dont fall into it , clean out the well where the box is.

Default Changing neutral safety switch

My problem has been identified as a faulty neutral switch. The workshop manual identifies where it is but is not very clear about actually changing it, but reading the text it doesn't seem that difficult. The part is available on ebay for $100.00 or so. I couldn't find much on this forum.

Anybody have any real experience changing one of these?

Thanks for you help.

Had it rebuilt and vroom it started right up. Guy in Arizona rebuilt it, top notch.
