I need H4's...or H5's...help please
I know I have posted this once before, but I am in need now to finish my car. I was thinking of buying some new H4's for my GTS and then just put the H5's on the 85, but I am still struggling with the cost.
If anyone has a set of good to great condition H4's (8" of course), please let me know. On the other hand, if I cannot get the H4's, I will just buy the H5's and put them on the 85. I'll worry about the H4's for the GTS at a later date.
Please PM me as I need to get this handled this week! H4's or H5's.
TIA!

New they are about the same price... seen any history of actual selling prices on ebay etc?? I'd assume the H4's fetch more - seemed they used to.
I think I got about $170 + shipping for a pair of H5's from my GTS on ebay.
Find someone with H5's who really wants H4's and do a 'waterfall deal'... so who really wants to buy a set of new H4's...

I think it has neither - and is equipped with the 7" DOT sealed beams... though it has the right connectors for H4 bulbs.
I think the H5's came in with the S4. The only true H4's are on ROW cars or upgraded cars (either 7" or 8"). The H4's are really much better IMO.

You could always go with the 7" E-code Cibies. For a little over a hundred bucks, they are a phenomenal upgrade, every bit as good as the 8" lenses, and far better than H5s. I think they look fantastic.

H4's at about $290 each new are the same price as H5's new.

Once I have mine converted to the H4s, I will consider selling the H5s. But I don't know when that will be. The car is currently on jack stands in the garage...

Used H5s available (10-Sep-2008 update: sold!)
I've got my old H5s sitting in a box in the garage, from when I upgraded to H4s a few years back.
Here's some photos I just took.
$170 for both (I'll go with Alan's price; seems fair, since 928 International lists used ones at $140 each), plus S/H. They've currently got 100/80 W bulbs in them, and I'll throw in two extra brand new 100/80 W bulbs (on of the ones shown in the photo was broken). Make sure your headlight wiring is up to the task if you want to run these bulbs, since they're higher than stock wattage and there have been reports that the car-side sockets may deform/melt/whatever with the increased current flow.
Keith (928ntslow) gets right of first refusal since he asked and got me motivated to dig these out of the cabinet in the garage.
Remember, these are H5s, not H4s (despite the fact that if you read the labels on the boxes, they indicate H4s, but that's because I'm reusing the boxes that the H4s that I upgraded to came in).
Sold to 928ntslow on 10-Sep-2008.

Hmmm... I'm convinced they can do that in terms of brightness. But the ones I've seen had no better light pattern, and were rather blinding to oncoming traffic.
