Here's the map from the Speedway web site with the entrance from Williamson Blvd marked with the Red Arrow; the Registration Building marked about where the blue square is(just to the right of the entrance into the tunnel); and the 928 Home Base where Russell's RV will be parked marked with the blue X

If you've not ever been inside the infield at the Speedway, it is highly recommended to take the tunnel entrance off Williamson instead of the one off of International Speedway Blvd (SR92). The one off 92 is shorter & much more steep compared to the one off Williamson, increasing the chance of a bumped nose on your shark. You'll have no problem with the one marked on the map, its much larger & designed for RV's ect.

I just got word that I have to fly out to Nassau tomorrow. I doubt I'll be able to make it back in time for Daytona. I'll try but it's doubtfull. If not, have fun without me.

Bahamas is pro'lly more fun than Daytona anyways, even if there for Bizniz, but I'll bet they won't have as many 928s there! Go-karts won't be nearly as much fun without ya though! We'll be sure to toast ya this weekend Shawn.
ahhh... your post just got in ahead of mine George, look forwards to seeing ya there Sport!!

The weather forecast isn't looking too inviting. The hotel says they're going to charge us for a day if we cancel now. I guess we'll see what the forecast looks like tomorrow. Do they race if it rains?

They'll race as long as its not of Biblical proportions to where it presents a possible safety hazard. Keep in mind, the past two years they've had racers come from as far away as Canada & Seattle so they're not going to scrub the races just for the typical Florida rains, although they will certainly delay a race to wait for it to pass. Usually this time of year the rain is not the scary lightning laden thunderstorms like we have during the summer anyway, just rain & it passes. Yesterday for example, it rained on & off within an hour in the morning, then within a couple hours it was clear skies & sunshine the rest of the day. I spoke with my son who lives in Daytona yesterday & he said he saw no rain all day.

Thats some funny sh*t for sure. Remember last year at Daytona, the same thing happened but instead of the DBPD, it was the track cop in his pickup truck pulling over a 911 for going up on the embankment. I drove by right when he walked up to the guy's car. He was really stern & official in his tone. Instead of asking for his license & registration, he said, "may I see your credentials sir". Actually, they can impound your car & arrest you for that violation should they choose to do so. Not something to muck around with them on.
