I did the diff test a while ago so I don't remember the details, I think it was in nuetral. I know if you are turning right and are heavy on the gas the right rear tire will spin for about 1/2 a block. Next time I have it out of storage I'll jack it up and check.

I'd love to keep it but I rarely drive it as my commute just went to ~2 miles round trip and the expense of having two sharks, two cars, a kid, and a desire for a bigger house, really dictates one of these have to go.

I really like the look of the car in that color. Beautiful. Anything need attention right now on it?

Depends on how much of a perfectionist you are...

There is an occational high idle issue (engine revs at ~1100 rpm with A/C on and ~750 with A/C off). This is occational and I think it is vacuum related or ISV related, I just haven't had time to sort out. The oil pan gasket doesn't leak but is puffy so it will probably need attention sooner or later and one of the power steering hoses has an occational drip/leak (Usually after a long drive when the fluid gets HOT).

It looks like the car is sold pending buyer inspection. I'll update later this week whether or not the deal goes through. Thanks for all the interest!

Hi Guys/Gals,

Well.. I was the guy who was going to buy this car. And now, sadly, I'm going to go and sit.. and think about it some more. So if you are serious about buying it, you should hurry up and buy it before I make up my mind and take it home.

Paul (the seller) was hugely helpful. Very knowledgeable about 928s in general. And very upfront about this car. His descriptions are perfect. In fact, after looking over the photos, and reading his descriptions, I'd have to say I knew about as much as I needed to know about the car. One of those rare times when you go to look at a car and it is *exactly* like it was described. Paul is standup guy, and definitely made me feel comfortable about buying his car.

The only reason I'm on currently on the fence right now is because this is the first 928 I've driven. And the experience was a little funny for me. The dogleg tranny, the powerband of the 16V etc. I'm debating if waiting for a 32V would be worth it, or this car would be a good fit for me.

This car strikes me as being a solid value in cool Porsche exotica.

Somebody on this list really deserves it.

Well, you're on the list now....so I guess you deserve it as much as the next guy.

Beautiful freakin' car. Sooooo wish I could have that to go with my schieferblau... (no, not my avatar pic)

Throw a supercharger on that baby with the money you saved on the purchase price, and blow right past a 32v every day!!

Leslie, it is a beautiful car. I love that color.

Rusty, I have a 1982 5 speed. I love my car. Sure I would like to have more power(oh those 32 values). Any year 928 is a great car.

I wanted to own a Porsche for every. When I bid on my car on Ebay I had not clue what was needed to maintanin this car or what I got my self into. I was lucky. Mechanicaily (sp) it has been great, not a lot of special needs yet. I have learned alot in the last year since my purchase (from these guys on Rennlist). These guys are right.

BUY THE BEST YOU CAN AFFORD, GET GOOD RECORDS, PLAN ON SPENDING 3-5K GET IT RIGHT.

I have been looking to add to my collection. I would love a 1987-89 blue like this one (5 speed).

This is a very good deal on a good car.

Oh, BTDT...but a nice investment along the lines of several months' salary will fix you up right!

Get this car if you can...they don't all look so well sorted out. We've bought 4, and 2 are in the junkyard already....stripped and chassis only towed away....

Looks like most of the big money has been spent on this car already...plus a brutally honest seller, from what it appears....

I could be wrong, but if I had the money, I would....BUY IT!!!

Same.

Son, early-twenties, who has helped rebuild two of them, just spent an hour staring at the photos.

It's kind of right in my back yard... I could probably walk there to get it. I have to find reasons not to go there. I have to restrain myself. I need to go out into the garage and look at the one on jack stands - that one needs all my love, time, and money right now.

Nicole, I got your email.

If the car is still around on say the 22nd of this month, I might just swing by and have a look-see. It's not the willpower, just the money.

Some day we'll get you into a 928. I know you like these cars. Maybe some day is getting closer...

I totally love them - when they run and work perfectly. But I was kidding... I really don't need another one right now.
