Does anyone have the dimensions of the original normal version of the GT rear muffler?
Mine is l/w/h
36 cm/28 cm/ 18 cm (14"/11"/7"),
it is the Suisse-version (the afore-mentioned "humourless"), which I suspect is larger or at least more damped than the normal one, because it has its own part number in the PET.
I am doing the exhaust on the 1991 GT, it is almost there now, just need it a bit louder.
It is too damped with this Suisse rear muffler, maybe if the normal muffler is slightly louder, it is just right.
Must keep the original look, with the two discrete, black exhaust outlets..

Get an '89 GT muffler, the part number ends in ...03. It is like 8 lbs lighter than '90+ twin outlet muffler and allows more music to come out.
There is less sound deadening material in it.
I can't remember exactly, but Dave C weighed some mufflers:
RMB: 8 lbs
'89 GT muffler: 18 lbs
'90 GT muffler ('90-'95): 23 lbs
S4 muffler: 29 lbs
Sorry for bad memory, but probably close.
