Default Wreck posted on OT forum. 944 or 928??

OT wreck thread

Can anyone discern if the helicopter shots of the burned carcass in the NBC slideshow link is a 4 or 8 cylinder car.
Whatever it was, condolences to the driver's family.

928. Hope everyone here is safe. Anyone recognize those wheels? They're pretty distinctive.

Here's my post from OT for those of you that may not have access if it helps anyone ID the person.

Here's the pics cleaned up as best as I could if it helps anyone identify anything. I was so hung up ID'ing the car that I didn't realize the driver was still in it. It feels odd posting it now that I know so I've deleted that part of the images.

According to the news article the driver was trapped in the car when it was burning.

My thoughts are with the family. This is horrible.

Those wheels are distinctive. MorganBowen has them and he is in SoCal but his car is red, this one doesn't appear to be red. Also. his car has GTS mirrors and this car has flag style mirrors.

Where is all the front and top sheet metal? The window frames on the doors look like they were sheered off. Must have been a huge speed delta to cause this damage. Terrible thing to see.

I don't think the firefighters needed to cut the top off.

No apparent skid marks. Almost seems like it wasn't an 'accident'.

The latest reports, say it was a 1989 and it was traveling at a estimated speed of 120mph when it hit the back of the big rig.
