Default Gas tank bypass ?

We located our gas smell!

Found the top hose not connected when we dropped the tank, it is part of the vapor recovery system. since we have removed the front mounted canister can we just plug this closed? This way the output and return will be the only sections connected, a fast response will be helpful.
Thanks
P.S. a friend was helping us today although a little thin!

Mark, I think the tank needs to be vented in orfer not to implode but I will defer to the experts. To get the tank reinstalled, why not put a short jumper hose on it that is long enough to get to with the tank installed? That way you can either tie into it or plug it there once you get the final verdict.

BTW, I found at least part of my excessive blow by problem. Cyl. #7 has a 35% leak vs all the rest. I'll later.

I think you need to vent the tank. Blocking that vent will likely cause the tank to implode. Why not connect it to the vent line that runs through the front left fender? No need to re-attach the charcoal cannister.

I was worried about that since the large vent tube located in the middle is capped off I am no wanting to drop my friends tank again. I was thinking about adding a one way valve to the smaller out let of the top T, will this work?

Is this your Turbo car? Wanted to see it Friday, did you have problems with it? Never got a chance to talk to you.

I found a post showing the set up of the tank and it seems like the large middle hose allows for venting during fill ups. If I reconnect the small hose on the top T it should allow for normal venting, at least I think so. If I'm wrong feel free to set me stright

I was checking it out after dinner, mine was the white S4. I was hoping to hear yours when we did the cruise but I think half went to the go-carts, while the rest went to the cruise.

Yes. I may start a thread about it. We'll see. I don't want to hijack Tampa's thread.

Can you link that post so we can see it? It sounds like you may be on to something. The fill tube should be vented.

We were waiting at the corner of Main St. while we said our goodbye's to DJBMini and his family. They had to get the babies home.

That would be awesome. Marks car should be driveable by the Octoberfast get together. It probably won't be finished but it will be painted. Your wife should come. Do you think she would ride the go karts?
