Default Wife clocked @ 164 in Nevada

OK, the title is correct but it was at the Pony Express 130 in Battle Mtn, NV.

Cheryl drove the "Beast" quite competently for 130 miles bringing in Team Speed Nutz to 2nd place at less than .3 seconds of of perfect. We ran in the 145mph class this time working our way up to Super Sports so she can run a couple of certified 200 mph passes next year.

She will compete @ the Silver State Classic in 3 weeks in the 150 class and hopefully kick a lot Corvette A** off the podium. Honestly I really enjoy navigating for her. It brings a totally different perspective to speed. This car is incredible at speed. It simply motors, that is the best description of sitting in the car.

As the primary driver I was slightly concerned riding with my wife at 145, but during practice I discovered that the darn car can do about anything asked of it. I had a great time in the right seat. Looking forward to going even faster in Ely.

I am so proud of my wife that I can't stand it. Look for a 200 mph pass next year.

Sincerely submitted

You are a brave man occupying the passenger seat no matter who is driving at those speeds!! Stay safe.

Tim,

That is freaking AWESOME! I love that stuff! My wife has done one DE and I would LOVE to have her out in one of the beasts to do some more. If she would do enough to get soloed and where she was really comfortable I'd strap her into the race car and let her RIP in that beast! Well, I call it a beast only because it looks like one...it has a stock motor (and I think it is a 4.5L CIS with only 230ish HP w/ the headers and exhaust) so it is not all that fast in a straight line, but it will eat up the corners on those 12" wide slicks! YEA BABY and they feel SOOOOO GOOD to drive on track with too!!! YUM!

Congrats again to your wife and I look forward to the report of her breaking 200!

Wow Perry, thats kind of negative. I am not occupying the seat with just anyone. This is my wife! I don't think I'm brave at all. Cheryl has navigated for me @ 208 mph. We have run 200+ six times. She has competed as a driver in our car @ 130/150 & 145 / 168. Now she will compete @150 /165. Next year at 200. If I misunderstood your post I am sorrry but she is awsome!

Congrats to CHERYL for a great run. She need to post how comfortable she was at speed with you in the nav seat. No doubt it was great. Lots of great prep on a great car makes going fast a joy.

Watch a few of the back-in-the-day features on Speed Channel, and gain some respect for how racers used to go fast. Yowww! Your car is so much better prepared, the technologies have improved so much etc. Still, ripping across the desrets on public roads at superlegal speeds has to be a huge rush!

---

Does anybody watch current car commercials, where the viewer is supposed to 'desire' a car that gets you blood boiling, heart racing, etc? I'm thinking that I want that cool, effortless one handed drive at 150. Maybe two hands at 200, but no 'excitement'. I want it to be effortless, all in a day's work, etc. Like Tim and Cheryl's car.

This is Cheryl usingTim's ID. The car handled fantastically (is that a word)? As a seasoned navigator myself, I feel confident in saying that Tim is the world's best navigator and that coupled with a fabulous race car made my driving experience surrealistic. Running up to 166 mph for extended stretches was effortless and I'm truly looking forward to the Silver State and beyond when I can run +200 with Tim bringing me in on time!!!!!

Cheryl,

Wow! Congratulations!! Great job and fantastic car, it was a real treat to get to see it at SATL in June. Now all you need to do is beat Tim's 208!

Cheers, Jim & Sue
