Those weird plugs look like speaker connectons for the back of the stereo. I've only seen those on a Mercedes (factory stereo wiring on my 81 was gone when I aquired it).

It's hanging down on the front drivers side, it did have a hugh stereo that was removed.

Besides the speaker wires the harness also contains the antenna power wire (white), the largish red wire is switched power from the ignition switch through the interference supression coil, and brown is ground. The plug next to it fits into the side of the HVAC control head (I think).
