Quiet Window and Odd Part
Changed my plastic window guides over the weekend and what a great investment of an hour or so and $30! The glass is now nice and tight and no more rattles with a partially open window (didn't rattle when fully open, which I understand is another issue). This is actually one of the easier things I've done so far on a Porsche ... the nuts were actually welded to the glass holder so all you have to do is run the bolts up through them and tighten. I expected to be contorted trying to hold a nut and washer upside beneath something I couldn't see, etc. ...
After taking out the guide bar, I reached inside the door and happened across a rectangular piece of black rubber, about 1.5 x 2.5 in and about 1/4 thick. It has a cut out in the center in the shape of the letter "D". Looked in PET and didn't see anything that looked like this on the pages with the door hardware. Anybody know what this is and where it might go? The cut out in the center looks like it might be intended to go over the guide bar?

It goes around the guidebar where it attaches to the bottom of the door.

One of the nuts on the back (outside face of glass) fell of mine.....PITA to get it back into place, and hold enough to get bolt started.....you were a bit lucky. The guide post has a rubber part at the base as mentioned above to stop it rattling.
