Default Widest known tire to fit without fender "pulling" on et67

I am looking at putting a set of wheels with 67mm offsets on the rear of my 89. I dont mind rolling the inner lip, but dont want to pull out the fender, changing the external body line. What is the largest confirmed rear tire size here on rennlist for a 67mm rear without deforming the fender for clearance.

Thanks,
Hans

iirc a 295, though you will probably have to run a pretty hefty spacer with that offset.

I beleive a 295 will just fit, but you may get some variation in section width from mfg to mfg. +1 on the spacer. You'll have to get it jsut right.

As a tip, I used some really big fender washers to space my wheels to get a spacer that was ideal. For me, 5mm worked with 51ET (IIRC) - that woould translate to about a 21mm spacer for your wheels.

Which you are in luck as 21mm spacers were factory on some of the 928s.

My 84S came with them. I'm running them with 18x10 ET65 rims with 285s out back. They fit easily on the car with no fender rolling.

315x25x19 on 19x11 et67mm

must run small spacer on inside to keep from rubbing on lower suspension. some rubbing on the inner fender panel may occur, but it's a damn tight fit. rolling of the outside fender panel is required.

Wow, you can get a 315 in there with only rolling the lip? Maybe i will be good with a 305.

With that offset you can do a lot with the right spacers. I can't get into the mines-bigger-than-yours scrum but as an example I've got 275/40-17 on the rear, stock unrolled fenders and I have a finger-width between the tire and the lip. Could probably go a step wider but the 275 is plenty for me. It's almost funny though, the difference between the 928 and a 914. I've put wide tires on both and while the 928 is almost exactly the same finger-width on both sides, 914s vary considerably. I think I had the widest possible on a stock-fendered 914 running 245s, but had to roll/pull one side and not the other. Did Hans get more accurate over the years?

I have 285 on 18x10 65mm offset using what I believe are 944 spacers (10 or 12 mm). I've been meaning to try the 21mm 928 spacers but that would bring it pretty close. I know a number of people are running 295 but I don't their offsets, I could probably squeak by with 295. I think the 21mm spacer with 67 offset and 285 would fit, might want stiffer sway bar configuration than stock; I would be slightly surprised if 295 with a 21mm worked without stiffer anti-roll. But let me know if it does, new shoes next spring
