Not necessarily-----the insurance company's liability is to return your car to the condition it was BEFORE the crash.

while this third brake light thing has proven to help in many studies (NY Taxies for example), it didn't help in my latest bang from the rear.......


Light rain, slick pavement, mini-van following too close, slid into the back of my dually----

Front of the mini-van into the receiver hitch on the dually. No damage to the dually, but it took out the grill, grill supports, A/C condensor, and the radiator.

On top of all that damage to her mini-van, she got a ticket for "failure to control" her vehicle.

And I had installed LED lights on both sides of the center marker light (under the tailgate) with the brake light feature operating......

Just 'cause you've got extra brake lights, doesn't mean you won't get hit.
