Anybody close to Southampton NY that could go look at a car for me?

Not an indepth PPI, just a walk around to verify cosmetic condition.

Aventura Motor Group has a red '93 GTS 5-spd that is getting under my skin. It looks great in the pictures, but pictures can't show it all. I just need someone to go by there and have a closer look.

Look at:
-documentation and service history (nothing in-depth, just see what they have)
-paint condition (glass for cracks, open and shut doors, hatch, and hood while checking for alignment)
-check all functions (start it up, check all electrics, HVAC functions, and a short drive if they let you *and they should*)
-interior condition (carpet, seats, door panels, and dash)
-engine bay cleanliness (check for anything unusual)
-underside (check for belly panels and look for leaks!!)

Also check out the business for me, is it junky or neatly kept? Is the car being shown inside a showroom, or outside. I have been to their website, but anybody can put on a front.

Stephencs601 lives close to them and said they are an actual dealership (with high priced cars).

They accepted my offer of $36,500, so it's time to crap or get off the pot.

Can anyone recommend a good place for a PPI in that area?

I feel like $36,500 is an extremely good price for a 41k mile '93 GTS 5-spd.

I just need a good PPI to make sure the car isn't loaded with problems or has been wrecked badly before.

Lynmor motors, TKX performance, Porsche of Huntington, to name a few. The closest Porsche Dealer of there is the closest one to bring it too. It is located in Riverhead, forgot the name for now. Call me after five or PM me with your number.

David I also strongly recommend that you travel to NY and look at the car in person if the PPI checks out. PPI's don't always focus on the cosmetics and their meaning of really nice may be different than yours.

I looked at the pictures on ebay and from what I could see the only problems were the drivers rear seat had some wear, the trunk carpeting appears torn near and the rear hatch is missing the cloth cover and cargo net. The rest of the car looks good but I will say that it is really hard to tell due to the size and clarity of the pictures. They also don't focus on the areas that typically wear faster like the seat bolsters, rocker panels, front bumper, and drivers side carpeting.

Just an update fellas.

Stephencs601 (Steve) went and checked out that GTS and test drove it today. He said it was flawless except for the missing the cargo cover and net. He said it was fast as hell and everything worked.

Southampton Porsche will do a PPI on the car Monday or Tuesday.

Looks like I'm buying plane tickets to NY!!
