NICE SNAG Rog! Way to go!!! I do have a question though... WHY does it have S spoilers? I was not aware that any 928's had those prior to the '80 S models... Were they an option on all years and then standard for all S's????

James they were added. It was common for the European used car dealers some of whom had lots near the airports to "upgrade" the cars that they hoped to sell to tourists for export. Grey market cars were quite popular for several years because they could be bought for a lot less in Europe but many none S cars were represented as being an S, many of the buyers were not planning to buy a car but got swept up in how "cheap" they were compared to USA prices....

James,
Probably as Jim stated. They were added by the first owner.
I am glad it does not have side marker add on lights.
Sweet car for the money.
We will see how she performs - there is always a trailer 8>)

Don't want to hijack the thread but about the S spoilers is it possible to make a lets say a 86.5 into body style of 1978-1980s?? I don't like the look of the S spoilers i like early OB and S4 and later Just a question and nice find beautiful color. If I ever become rich I will have a Porsche custom make me a TT of the year in that color.

Roger when Zane said "we need to go green" I don't think she was thinking of the car color. I think she wanted to save the planet, NOT THE CAR.
Congrats

Put third pedal in the car.
Guaranteed (well mostly) to keep the Rog away.

Dang Roger!! I was almost ready to buy that thing. I asked the guy what he wanted for it and he told me he'd like to get $4K. I was so close . But I'm glad you got it. It'll have a better home with you than with me.... very nice purchase!

Have fun!

Rog,

I like that car and color. I want an OB '78 in that color... One of these days. Or better yet, you put a lot of money into this car and take off all the S stuff and then sell it to me for what you are paying for it! LOL!

This story reminds me of a sweet unfortunate dog getting adopted from the pound by a nice home.
