Kids love this car
Just wanted to share this story.
I took my 8 year old son to a Detroit Lions Football camp this morning and decided to take the 928. The camp is being held at a local high school football field. There are about 70 boys between the ages of 7 and 12, and we pull up just outside the field. I had about 15 kids (and 1 coach) around the car in no time, saying how cool it was and what kind of car was it. You just don't get that kind of response from alot of other 17 year old cars.
What a great way to start the morning.

Big kids, too! I was putting groceries in my 928 yesterday afternoon when a guy and his teenage daughter got into the 940 Volvo next to me. He looked at me with a big grin on his face and said, "Great car! Used to have one, before kids and french fries...". I laughed all the way home.

My daughter (14 years old) just loves it when I take her to school - all the boys' jaws just drop.
My son (10 years old), will open both windows and crank up the stereo (he loves Pink Floyd) when I take him to school or football practice.

Yeah, it's quite amazing really.... Many kids must have 'cool cars' built into their genes or something...
On quite a few occasions I have seen kids as young as 2 - 3yrs stop dead in their tracks, poke dad in the guts, point and stare as I cruise by....
Then the 928 is such a timeless design... it never ceases to attract attention... Tho the X-pipe, no Cats and RMB help... just incase someone misses it

I've just a few miles with my shark so far, but twice I have noticed cars slowing down on the motorway. I am driving in the right(slow) lane and I see the car passing me slowing down.
I let go of the pedal to get the car to pass me, and there in the rear window the kids are busy taking pictures with their cell phones...!
That never happens when I drive my old BMW...

As Jim B. has said, "There's something about a 928. You either get it or you don't".
I think it was Anatole Lapine who said (paraphrasing), "It's really very basic. If you ask a small child to draw a car, they draw a beetle. If you ask them to draw a fast car, they draw a 928."

I was out in mine the other day and while stopped a stop sign, an '08 Vette went by and the fine looking female driver looked at my 928 and I read her lips as she said "WOW".
But she was probably looking at me and didn't even notice the car....
