Anyone know a good source for a racing front splitter - I see both Marks have one fitted?
Us racers in the UK have more standard looking cars at the moment, eg pic from last race:

Yes really plywood ....it was designed and built by a well know race team plywood is simple easy and quite strong yet flexible ...some trees sway in the wind for 1,000 years !

I considered other materials like aluminum but if you hit something it will just bend and drag and probably require you to stop ending your race. The plywood will break and fall off hopefully letting you continue. I carried a spare in the trailer and I you can always go to the lumbar yard and get more. If I had used something like carbon honeycomb good luck with that.

mark, how thick is that ply? are you using cable to help support the ply - it dosent look like it from the pics.

There is some pressure built up on the splitter on one side, but its less than 1psi.
the main reason it works so well as it routes the air around to the sides, rather than having it go under the car where the pressure is already higher than on top of the car.

mark A has a nice mounting system with the rear back bolts. plenty stable. I have almost a hinge on mine, and it need the down cables just to support the pressure change. (ask me how i found out driving to t-hill for my first test day with the splitter )
