If it was removable (like a hardtop), leaving an El Camino type car, it would be worth the money to me.

I believe this was the inspiration for MTV's famed "Pimp My Ride" reality show nightmare thingie... Just needs a couple of dozen "monitors..." That, some green fur dash/seat covers and a big blue diamond in the center of the dashboard... Oh yea, hydraulics too.

Just because it can be done, doesn't justify doing it. The design looks like an after thought, which of course it is. To echo nsantolick's sentiments: the concept isn't necessarily bad, it's the execution that is.

I don't know but sounds like a good parts car in whatever condition its in. That must be the ugliest Porsche ever.

Another picture of what's likely the same car in original condition:

http://www.autolager.de/images/jpg_g...mbiPorsche.htm

German Wikipedia says that Günter Artz, who created this and the 928 with the VW Rabbit/Golf body, is supsected to have beat his 96 year old mother to death and shot himself in the head in 2007. I was not able to confirm this elsewhere on the Interwebs, and don't know, if he is alive today.

Then you should look to Denmark, they have even more tax on cars than Norway... There is a company specialising in doing this, they did a lot of 928s earlier, here is an article about them converting Audi TTs: http://www.worldcarfans.com/9070927....audi-tt-pickup

And one for sale in Denmark: http://www.dba.dk/asp/soegning/detai...nceid=55596258

There is no pictures in the ad showing the car from the rear, but you can just see that it has a canvas over the rear deck. Here is what it looks like:

Here is one that I in fact would consider buying for half the price of a normal GTS (but only consider...):

What was the point of the canvas cover? Why did they replace the hatch? Only problem with the lower picture is the wood surround and they used a GTS. It wouldn't be so bad if they used a no value OB.
