Default Again I ask for your help (gas fumes in cabin - rv)

I have a 928 78 model, upgraded to a "S".
My problem is, amongst other things lol, that when I open window while driving, bad gasolinesmell appears in the cockpit, I assume because of the vacuum created by the open window. Cant seem to find any leaks...thinking maybe a ventilation thing? Is this a common problem? Any tips where to look?

Making my head hurt:-(

Mine does this with the windows up after hard acceleration..try it and see if your does also, then we can have the same problem to figure out. Had an amp installed in the rear hatch area? If so check for holes in the gas tank from the screws, very common.

First: get a fire extinguisher and never drive without it until problem is solved.

I've got the same issue. light fuel fumes inside cabin only when I open the window, so we need to sniff around our cars to figure this out.

Been reading up a bit and the places to smell for is:
- Front right wheel well = Y-connector to canister
- Rear right wheel well = Expansion tank?
- around the air filter in the engine compartment = Probably something dangerous, do not drive until leak is located.
- Under the tank = fuel pump and filter fittings/hoses + leaking hatch seal
- Inside cargo bay = fuel sender gasket, breather hose connector or in worst case a hole on top of the fuel tank caused by a screw from a stereo install, etc...

Please inform us asap if anyone finds or knows the usual source for this problem.

Some other places that leaks develope are the vent hose connections on the tank this requires tank removal.
I recently resealed a tank at the vent and filteroutlet holder areas using PRC fuel tank sealer its a flexible sealant thats used on Jets fuel tanks it sticks to anything and stays flexible and its fuel resistant, MFG by Flamemaster

Check the seal for the tank level meter.
I just had a leak there ! when filled the tank .

Remove the carpet in the hatch. there is a circular plastic cover ! remove and check if there is gas located there ????

If there is ??
Tighten (maybe you need to split it a aprt and clean the seal) it and clean the surroundings .
