Fuel pump is getting noisy
On my way home from Tahoe I took a pit stop at state line. When I got out my car I left the engine running and could here the fuel pump running. I've never herd this before. The car got us home ok and still runs fine. The sound is not labored, it just sounds like a running motor. Is this a failing fuel pump?

No it is probably not failing, mine also makes a noise and after a long trip I can hear it in the cabin.
The pump is a direct displacement pump with cylinderical rollers working inside an oblong former. so it will always be noisy and the electrical motor's rotor run in ball bearings, however the major factor is how noisy is the pump and weather the ball bearing are failing or the pump is wearing.
The usual failure is a burnt out rotor windings or brush failure or a foreign object caught up in the pump, jamming the pump rotor.
Drive it as it is and if you wish to be ultra cautious you can also carry a spare external fuel pump.
