I remember that car, but it was the white Testarossa that Crocket drove that I really liked.

Song was used in ads and in the first episode IIRC. The Miami Vice theme was composed by Jan Hammer.
I believe that Rebecca's dad was a whacked out right wing television show host in LA. I am not saying that right wingers are whacked, just this guy.
