Default Beware whilst your cars windows are being tinted!

Just got the 85s window tint redone. They put drop cloth on the door panels and secured it with masking tape. When they pulled up the tape it took some of the color layer off with it! . I've had this place do other cars for me in the past and they've always done a good job so I'm chalking it up to "just one of those things". It especially sucks because the door panels were near perfect. Any ideas on the best way to fix it? Should I just find another door panel?

Between the squealing S/C belt that I can't seem to get enough tension on, the lean running condition that I haven't figured out yet, the new tires due to poor alignment, and various other things this car is already driving me nuts! It'll all get sorted out in due time though....

You need to go see someone else. I had some pro tinters do mine with out taking windows or panels off. No tape or nothing needed either.

I feel like an idiot for leaving it and not watching them like a hawk but the other 5 or 6 cars they've done for me turned out really nice so I wasn't worried about it. Any suggestions on how I can fix it?

you might want to remove the SC belt and wipe it down with some acetone then wash it with some detergent, do the pulleys as well with the acetone wipe, over tension on the belt will damage the front main bearing

Randy...that was exactly what I'm looking for...thanks!

MrMerlin...I'm not too worried about the belt being tensioned too tightly but I will follow your advice on the acetone/wash. This is the second belt now and it was quiet when first installed but inevitably the squeal returned. I don't know if the belt is stretching or if the tensioner is backing off but either way it is annoying. I've tried belt dressing but that seems to make it worse and also makes a mess under the hood. Eventually I hope I'll get it to go away!
