Default Needing help with a wiring issue

Good Evening to all!
Here is the issue. When I went to find out why the mirrors didn't work but the switch seems fine. I came upon the problem. I removed the door panels and found that the wiring from the mirrors on both side had been cut and taped up. I 'm pretty sure I have found the wires that would go to the mirrors taped and stuffed back into the harness.
Now it could be that these doors are not the originals or mirrors. Because on the drivers side harness there are 5 wires..1 yellow /1 white/ 1 brown/ 1 black/ 1 grey or is it a faded green? then the 5 wires from the drivers mirror are 1 white/1 brown/ 1white with 2 brown stripes on it/1 brown with 2 yellow stripes/1 black with 2 brown stripes.
Passenger side mirror wires are the same as the drivers but the harness on that side show 5 wires 1Blue/1 White/1 Brown/1 black/1 grey? or faded green?

I'd like to reconnect the mirrors but want to make sure I'm matching the correct wires on each side to their correct match. Anyyyyy and all info or help here is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks Jack,
Were the mirror wires the same colors thru all the years? The reason I'm asking is the colors I have coming out of the mirrors are the same on both sides and each mirror has 5 wires leading out. The harness wires are different colors on each side so if I understand correctly the wires that I have found in the door harness do not match to the mirrors because they are different colors.
It makes me think that I either have more wires that should match but can't find them.
Oh yes this is my 83 928S I'm working on....Glad you figured it out, I forgot to let you all know whay year it was.
OHhh I'm so confused!

So I'm still wondering does anyone know which wires should be hooked up to which wires in the above quote? Because there are no other loose or wires going nowhere but the ones I found and they are not all matching which makes finding how to wire them up very confusing........

Thanks again Jack......this points me in a better direction....Yes this cars PO's have done some really screwed up short cuts!

You might want to check the connectors for the mirrors and see if the colors have been changed there for some reason (PO's do funny stuff!!!!). You will find the harness connector for the driver side in the footwell up under the dash above the hood release lever. The passenger side connector is located above the CE panel and just above the ECU. They are both 18 terminal connectors so they aren't hard to identify. Why 18 terminals, you ask? Because these connectors also go to other things like the power window motors and the safety and courtesy lights in the doors. Good luck getting it all sorted out.
