Which Grey/Yellow wire? I see a white one in your pic. According to the wiring diagram the fog light switch has 4 wires and it looks like your switch has those.

I know it looks white but its a Light Grey/Yellow wire. I was looking at the wiring diagram and there is a note "wire disconnected in conjuction with M124" and a dotted line "wire connected in conjuction with M124". Could it be this wire? Looks like M124 is a version for France.

This mystery is on my last nerve. I did a little more research. M124=Verision for France= Yellow light. I guess they had yellow Fog lamps which were connected to the Turn Signal/Headlight dimmer switch post b 56. From the Wiring diagram (97-199) it looks like they would turn off when they went into high beam.
The normal M487 (Fog lamps) option connects the fog headlamps directly to the Light Switch at pin 58.

I'm a gonna break out my multimeter and verify that the Grey/Yellow wire goes to pin B56 of the Turn Sgnal Headlight Switch.

Unless someone want me to post my findings, I'm gonna let this thread die due to lack of forum interest.

Cheers

I did find that the loose Grey/Yellow wire does go to pin 56b on the headlight dimmer dimmer switch. I've added a picture of the connector with labels and color codes.
Not the level of work that other around here but a modest contribution.
