Good luck to them with a start bid of almost $38K. I'm sure every penny is in it, but IMO, a custom like this is too custom to spend that kind of Dinero on it.

Malibu had it for sale on Ebay about 6 months ago. I'm not sure if he sold it then or not. From the text in the ad it sounds like he traded it in.

It certainly is nice (I've seen it up close). It's Malibu's car. I think he's bored with this project and wants to move on. I'm sure he has over $90K into it.
