eBay Purchase - HRE Racing in Greensburg, PA
Has anyone dealt with them?
I won an ebay auction from them in April and received the wrong part a couple of weeks later. I shipped the part back at my expense and have not yet received the correct part nor a refund - despite several commitments from the seller.
My 60 days to file a dispute with eBay expires in a couple of days. I do not want to go this route but the seller has had my $'s for two months and has not delivered the part I won (on eBay) nor has refunded my $'s.
Has anyone else had similar issues?

Adam - Greensburg is here in the Greater Pittsburgh metro area - do you have more info on them? Who are the principals, etc....If a local shop is bad, I want to make sure our local network knows about it.

File the dispute. Don't let it laps you've been more than patient. I've been on ebay since 97. Was the wrong part your fault or theirs?

I agree File the dispute...
I make my living running shops on EBAY for companies and stores the last 5-6 yrs. If a problem or return arises and I am notified it is handled ASAP. I would expect if I let something go as long as it has with you and not kept you up to date. I would expect you to file a dispute. It can still end amicably as long as cooler heads prevail. If the seller values his customer or his feedback he will straighten this out. If he is a scammer then it's best to have ebay on your side.
He may have a lousy system in dealing with returns or he may have lost it and the info..none the less. File at least you know you've try working within the system. Thats just my 2 cents....

Ed - I have very little info on the shop. Trevor is the individual I've been corresponding with.
Hammer - all of my communciation was via emails. I do not have a phone number for them.
6mil928 - I won an air filter housing for an '86 928. I received an air filter housing for an early '80's 928. The picture in the auction listing was the correct '86 part.
I emailed the seller the same day I received the incorrect part. Trevor responded and said he would send the correct air filter housing and would handle this personally. I sent the incorrect air filter housing back at my expense.
Since then, I have sent several follow-up emails requesting the status on the correct part. Early on, the seller promised to sent the correct part. The latest is that he may have shipped the part to someone else but had other air filter housings in the shop and mostly likely one for an '86. In my last email a little more than a week ago, I asked that this matter be resolved as the 60 day window to file a dispute was nearing an end - either send me the correct air filter housing or refund my $'s including the cost to ship the incorrect air filter housing back.

I have just finished a transaction with Trevor at HRE. He sent me numerous incorrect and damaged parts. After many calls and emails He finally got it right. Only took him a month. I have to say bad experience but he did finally make it right. I wont deal with him again.

When you file the dispute in time you have nothing additional to lose by the act of filing;
If you fail to file then you could lose everything with no redress possibility.

+1 on the filing. Also, I thought that when you were in a transaction with someone on eBay you got their registered phone number and address. It's been a while since I bought anything through there, but isn't that the case anymore?
I can't offer anything about this guy in particular, but I'd file through eBay. Sellers get some serious latitude through eBay now, so I'm sure he can have it removed in a few weeks if he follows up and it won't affect his 'rating' at all.

A very quick google search gets you this with a phone number. Call them.

I bought a new grill and twin horns from them a couple of months ago. The grill show damaged. They claimed that it must have happened during shipping, which it clearly did not. They asked how I wanted to resolve it. I told them the replacement cost of the upright sections and they refunded it to me. My overall take, I don't completely trust them, but they did take care of the issue. So, take that for whatever it's worth.

I've used him- had only one problem and it was resolved quickly. He has a webste (URL above) and has been responsive to me every time I've called. I'd try talking to him to see what the issue is.

I'm pretty sure they were buyers at Doc Mohr's estate sale. They bought a lot of parts and parts vehicles. Seemed like decent guys. They would back off on bidding when someone else was really interested. Just a casual observation not a business dealing.
