Default Auto Shift Handle

Anybody have a decent automatic shift handle for 89 S4 hanging aroung? I've been looking for one for a while and apparently they are very difficult to come by....

Appreciate any leads on one.

I have cabon fiber look AT shifter still in the box. Came with the car, but I will never use it. PM me if interested. I assume it's new, but not sure.

They are hard to come by. I got one from a rennlister here making a similar request. With all of the autos out there you'd think there would be plenty to go around. Be prepared to spend good money on one if you find it.

Personally I don't get the shortage....The plastic at the base of mine is all cracked. I performed some meatball surgery on it with some epoxy for now, but I don't want to rely on it.

It's showing you all the pieces so you know your getting the complete shifter not just an empty or partial shifter. But these in good shape or new are not cheap....

They ALL break so finding a good used one cheap is not easy... and very high priced new from Porsche.

IIRC, there were some comments a few years ago about using a CF replica that was available from places like Pep Boys. Anybody else remember or have knowledge of same?

I can't remember where I put my shoes most days, but somehow remember fragments of important stuff like this. Anybody seen my shoes?

a number of the carbon fiber look aftermarket shifters don't fit ... this I have 1st hand experience with... so be sure to get proper measurements BEFORE purchasing

I sent one to a fellow rennlister for the price of shipping. Didn't even cross my mind that it would be worth much. I could have make a few bucks and filled the mower with gas, maybe even the edger.

I got one of the 928 Sport Auto Shifters from Carl at 928 Motorsports. It is one of the best upgrades I have done to my 928 S4 so far. The stock T-handle is crap if you like to shift your auto manually like it was intended at times.

I got the leather shifter boot he offers also, it gives the console a nicer look.

BTW, I gave my stock T-handle assembly away to another Rennlister and didn't even sweat him down for shipping cost, 'cause I roll like that.

Here's the link to Carl's shifter:
