Further to my problem of a stuck door handle,.... today I removed the door trim, and located the security plate (What a pain in the backside to remove), anyway once I eventually removed it I took the advice on here and did not replace it.

The problem turned out to be the two allen headed screws that hold the inner mechanism to the outer handle had worked loose, the screw nearest the door lock was almost out,.... once these were tightened up the handle worked perfect,... just a gentle pull on the outer handle is all that,s required now.

Just to say a BIG thank,s to all members that contributed to my request.

You got off easy. Most times it's the door release mechanism that is broken.

Thank,s Bill and Randy,.... I actually rang the local Porsche main agent before I tackled the job this morning to enquire about availability of the part you guys told me about,.... think I,d said the first four numbers to the parts guy and he read out the rest,.. very common just sold one two days ago he said.

Price was about £20, which I think is around 30 ish dollars.
