Good car fax report!!!! How much did you give for it? That really determines if your crazy or a scholar.

When you get your Psy D, have your head examined.

A lot depends on what you paid. A lot.

Good luck and welcome back.

You know what they say about people who study psych. Usually they have a "vested interest" in learning about abnormal psych.

Case in point. ^^^^

Good luck with your new car. Hopefully you will report back and we will all be jealous of the steal you got.

This is NOT a blind date more like a mail order bride. You are already committed... A date is just a trial run , a spin around the block so to speak.

Thanks Kie - Looks like nothing to report.

Jim - I think you may know more about 928s AND about psychology than I do. I call it a blind date thinking I can just sell it again, but you know how hard it is to part with these cars. Now if I blow the timing belt on the 70 mile drive back from where it is, does that mean I'm even more married? Can I get it annulled?

Alright guys - I'll tell you what I paid, but first give me a range of prices and corresponding diagnoses.... based on what you (and I) know about the car... oh wait a minute... maybe I can post some pics first...

I'll play, despite being hugely jealous of the bargain prices you guys get in North America.

Based on S4's I've seen up for sale recently on craigslist, ebay etc. I'd go for about 3k due to panel/paint damage.

Interior looks decent, but it needs body work and a total paint, plus the usual mechanical work (intake, tbwp, seals, ignition electrics) so looking at $10k spend to get to "ok" condition, if you do the mechanical work yourself.

Given the level of blatant abuse on pretty much every single exterior panel... I'd be worried about how the rest of the car was cared for. It honestly looks like it was used by a highschool drivers ed class for parking practice.

Yeah that exterior has been abused... appears to have been parallel parked by someone with lousy depth perception! Repeatedly!!

The interior looks in okay shape, just neglected. And no signs of the usual dash cracks. That's a positive.

But I'm curious what the engine condition is, under that flat black hood. Why is it flat black? Engine overheat issues??

The hood is a replacement (in primer). The guy I'm buying it from put that on. I assume there was a "big" event in addition to the multiple obvious smaller ones. I guess once I see it I can try to determine if the battle wounds are all the same color. But I know something relatively big must have happened since the left eye socket is beat up (he let me know he took a dolly to it to get the headlight working), and the fog light lens on that side is the smashed one.

And there are the typical cracks that connect the windshield defogger vents to each other - and the pod apparently has a big one although I haven't seen a picture of that yet. Maybe I'll get a gang of neighborhood punks to spray paint it and smash it up with a sledge a little - just until it looks scary enough to keep people from cutting me off in traffic.
