Depends on the width of the wheel. Also, spacers reduce the offset, not increase them. The higher the offset, the further inboard the are. Spacers will push them out.

However, with all that said, a 7.5" or 8" wheel with 52mm offsets should fit the front - albeit not ideal. Rear will most likely be okay too, but an 8" wheel will look funny on the back IMHO - go with at least a 9" wheel for the rear...

What size tyres would you use for 8J x 18 and 9J x 18 wheels?

Rear - 11"x18" ET51 997 Carrera wheels fitted with 295/35ZR18
Going to fit a 1991 S4 Auto?

No, those will fit fine. You may have to tug on the rear fenders a little, that's all.
