Default What's this bracket? (Brake booster related?)

I think this has something to do with my brake booster R&R. The bolt holes match the studs on the engine side of the booster, but I can't figure out its function.

I just pulled my booster and might have a clue....alas if only there was a picture

Might it be something you used to secure the rod?

The picture doesn't show up when you look at it? It does when I do.

Try this link, please.

My 928 was last on the road in October 2006 . . . IIRC. It may have been August .

The bracket bolts on after the brake master cylinder and uses the same studs from the booster. I'm not sure what it does except make the reservoir harder to take out. But, I'm sure the factory had something important in mind.

Thanks Dave. Booster side of the MC? I couldn't find it in PET.

Neither can I. Do you want a picture of how it goes back together? (Under the assumption that it is possible for me to take one that's any good with everything bolted together. (I already looked and don't have one handy.))

Here's a picture. Note that I edited my first post after taking this picture 'cause it was wrong. I guess that the bracket keeps the reservoir from wiggling around too much.

Gotta love, not in PET (I looked too) and me trying to help with an older model that lacks such a functional device.

Don't worry about it. Every time I try to help out with anything older than an '87 I get it wrong and FlyingDog bitch slaps me (and rightly so.)

Perfect, Dave. Thank you very much. (I didn't want to impose by asking for a photograph, but I was hoping you would . . . !)

Damned if I can tell what the bracket is for -- maybe to keep the reservoir from rocking back and forth and wiggling out of the MC?

Now if people will just stop getting themselves arrested I can have this thing back together this week.

You're welcome. Be glad the motor on my '91 is far enough apart that this picture was possible! Otherwise you've been SOL for a picture!

Yup. It stabilizes the reservoir as far as I can tell. NOTE, that my very first post (now correct) was wrong. That bracket goes between the BMC and the nuts for the BMC. So, when you put the BMC one, the bracket goes on before you crank down on the BMC nuts. Otherwise you'll cuss, 'cause the inboard BMC nut is not the most fun nut to turn.

Now if people will just stop getting themselves arrested I can have this thing back together this week.
In Houston? You'd have better chances wishing for snow. (My extended family lives in the vicinity.)
