Default manual gearbox inputshaft oilseal

Hello friends,
Now that the engine and torquetube is out of the car. It seems like a good idea to replace the inputshaft oilseal on my 5sp manual gearbox just as a precaution. Is there a trick way to get the old one out? Or would I better leave it in. It's 30 years old now.....

Definitelly change it. Easy trick to get it out is to remove it together with alu casting surrounding it. To do this you need really large circlip pliers and couple of regular pliers. Once its out its easy to press out old seal in a vice. While its out you can also change o-ring which seals outside of said casting piece.
