Default 928 PPI

Pfaff motors sent me the following ( report seems brief to be sure, I have asked for more info, but 24 hour comms. delay)
Can someone sus out the VIN info for me:
WPOJBO924FS861942
(report follows)

It needs few thing to be done on it:

1Left windshield washer jet is not working(needs diag)

2-Needs rear shocks(leaking) cost $1751.50=tax to replace and 4 wheel alignment

3-trunk shocks needs replacement $139.00+tax

4-two light bulbs needs replacement

Like I said, not much meat in the report. Any suggestions with regard to replacing the rear shocks?
TIA
Frank

1751 seems a lot. alignment is 200 or so. look at www.928intl.com or www.928gt.com or www.928srus.com for shock prices. And ask for compression; gearbox and especially crank endplay results, as well as when the timing belt and water pump were last done

$1751 must be for all 4 shocks and ride height adjustment and alignment.

You can buy the hatch lifts and do that yourself for about $50.

Did they check the drivetrain? Are they a good 928 shop?

A set of stock Boges is $435 for the set of 4.
Boge Factory Reds are $1086
Hood and Hatch shocks are $12 each.

Thanks guys! LSD.....free your mind and your Porsche will follow.
PPI Update- Had to call the S.M. at Pfaff Porsche yesterday (Sat phone, 5 bucks a minute thank you very much), received an email from the service advisor, telling me that the 'PPI' did not include a leak down or TB check - sent me a copy of the report, which it turns out is a 'safety check' required by Ontario Gov.
(and by check I mean "4 Wheels, check. Steering wheel, check. etc etc) Anyway, I explained to the SM that traditionally a PPI was a little more involved....seems that it will cost me close to a grand to get a good solid idea of the car, however the SM is also a fellow sharkist and he will personally give the car a once over and procede with the PPI as he feels it needs, with the notion that if it's a donkey to stop and we'll discuss from there....as for parts, I already plan on buying all my kit through 928srus and 928 international and shipping same to Land of the Big Tax.- Anyone know a good outfit to work on the car in Toronto or Ottawa?

I've had a PPI like that ... worthless CRAP. The uy who did it for me on a 968 years ago on the East Coast, was a respected, beloved, PCA-active guy. The PPI report was as follows:

"looks good"

My reply: "did you do a compression test, trans test, suspnsion, rust, leakdown, oil quality, crank endplay, water pump/tbelt check..."

Ummm ... nnoooo ... but it sure looks good.

H
"looks good". Too funny. Funny in the sense that ....well, you know. Ya, could not believe my eyes when I opened the attachment last night with the "PPI" .....no amount of clicking would expand it.
I hate the thought of spending what amounts to a goodly portion of a set of new shoes for the beast on a PPI, but after the nightmare of the rennlist 951 I picked up last year (yes, I took his word on the condition, and his word was worth about 5K in repairs and counting ...) Hopefully I won't have to plonk down a grand on something I decide not to buy, but better now then later (repairs)
What are your thoughts on susp. looking for something that is adjustable and offers decent ride/perf.?
