I was thinking of doing this for this exact reason. The 928 horn just isn't manly enough to really get someones attention.
Anybody used any of these?

Spoke with the womans husband today.... he seemed pretty OK and now our insurance companies should sort most things out.

Will be interesting to see how much they decide to replace V's repair... the front bumper is actually split, so I sure hope they replace that!

My existing paint is far from show quality, but I am rather concerned about how much they decide to paint so as to blend out the metallic... I don't want to end up having a different looking color on the front fender and bumper compared with the hood!
Also noticed this morning that it appears as though the incident has shifted the front fender rearwards slightly... as there is a small scrape on the door, that probably first happened when I flung open the door in disgust at being hit.

Now just to wait and see what happens I guess... but I hate driving it around looking like this... it's embarrassing!

Wow! Looks like the Swedish Soccer Mom hit you pretty hard.

Check the front fender closely to see if there's any damage there.
And open the driver's door all the way to see if it hits the fender.
It didn't before and if there's any scraping they'll need to fix that.

Looks like you've got aftermarket wide wheels. Turn the front wheels from lock to lock to see if there's any tire/fender contact now that she's re-aligned your fender.

So do you get to put a Swedish Soccer Mom kill flag (like the ones on WWII fighter planes) on your door now.

I sympathize.

I just got rear-ended for the second time in one year. The first was in the 928 i bought last year and got hit while driving it home from the seller. I bought another and got hit in that just last week while waiting for a red light to change.

I am going to paint a bulls-eye on the rear bumper.

Man this crap scares me. Its only a matter of time until my number is up and something like this happens to my shark. My GFs BMW was just hit twice yesterday by a much older soccer mom, and she tried to pass on the blame and lied to the cop about it. Luckily the cops called her out on her BS.

In the US soccer moms get in the SUV starting dialing on a cellphone and put the thing in reverse with no regard of whats behind them. If they hit you, they are pissed you ruined there stupid conversation. Then when they call the insurance company the story changes to 'the guy in the porsche rammed into me'. Then the insurance company says 'her word is good enuff for me, were not paying you jack **** for damages' and you're screwed on the repair bill.

Thats pretty much what happened when my truck got totalled, the bitch lied to the her insurance company and I was left with a totalled truck. That was 3+ years ago, I have her address and its about time for a late night visit to her home with a can of air craft paint stripper and a BB gun.

Good luck with your shark.

Default Now fixed

Well finally got my car back today after 5 weeks at the shop...

They replaced with brand new parts, the front bumper, foglamp and turn inticator.... and repaired the front guard, came out pretty good I think....

While it was at the shop I got a new foglamp for the Right hand side aswell... as the old one was pretty messed up...

Total cost to insurance company... approx 5K USD plus 700 USD for a rental while it was at the shop.

I can only hope that HER insurance premiums go up ! There are "accidents" and there is gross irresponsiblity. Opting not to look where you are going is NOT an accident.

Yeah, that's another thing on my list of parts to replace... the glass is really 'cloudy' on that lamp for some reason.

I hope they go up too! Sometimes insurance shouldn't cover pure stupidity...
I'm just glad I didn't have to pay any of the damage bill!

Though regulations here in Sweden say that you have to pay 1/3 of the milage cost if you require a rental... so it ended up costing me around 250USD for 5 weeks of driving a VW Golf....

Looks really good. In the USA they would have probably told you to total the car. When can I move to Sweden?

Hi Fuse: Looks like they did a great job!

If you like, you can better adjust the panel gap between front bumper and hood by inserting washers between the sheet metal and the bumper cover. It's done like this all the time...

Actually it's not so bad to import vehicles into Sweden, there are LOTS of American imports here... not so many 928's, but loads of older 'classics' and lots of Corvettes.
'Friend of a friend' recently flew to the states and picked up a C5 Z06 (used), and shipped it over here.... cant remember the total cost for him, but he saved something like 10K USD compared to buying one already here in Sweden!
They usually sell for 45-60K USD over here!!

I'm pretty happy with the outcome! Fact is that the front bumper looks better now than it did before I was hit!
The guys at the shop didn't adjust the hood at all, so I think I can fix most of that panel gap by adjusting the hood, but thanks for the tip using washers
