Improving the aerodynamics of the 928
Been thinking about a custom exhaust system for the 2V Stroker, the existing system will be fitted with rear muffler to quiten it down a bit when under power, it doesn't make much noise under normal use, actually it pretty quiet.
The side exhaust add another interesting custom factor, might sound cool too! I would again use my bypass valve as that has been a great benefit so far, the exhaust will be lighter of course due to its shorter length.
The aero work will be done in association with the variable radiator flaps that the S4 and the GTs were fitted with which is really a very advanced feature, the Ferrari FXX closes its radiator ducts down the straights till the engine gets to a certain threshold temperature. This link provides some info on aero facts. Well worth the read.

Also here are some interesting links, some pretty practical tests.

The new Monaro that probably wont be built is a great looking car and some of the concepts could be adapted to the 928 if you were keen enough! you will have to be keen.
The extra extension of the floor is required for aero efficiency.
I think I would really like this steering wheel, no I think I really need this steering wheel.
What do you guys think?

That Manaro is sweet. Someone really lit a fire under GM's design team, they have been coming up with some great looking products lately.

A 928 has the shape and style of a 928. if you want to enhance it, follow its style, and you can get great results.
If you throw on parts (including steering wheels) that follow a totally different design concept, it will never look right. You'll be focused on the look of those parts and what you like about them, but the "whole" will look like a hodge podge...

Marine Blue I agree GM is making good looking cars here at least, the new Corvette is also awesome along with its existing and new supercharged engine.
Xlot I hope they do make the car, the car is just an engineering exercise, it has a lot of very advanced features and runs on E85 with cylinder shutdown. What I hope they don't do is Americanize the look like they did with the GTO, it looks best as a Monaro, I don't know why they think they need to change the grills and make them ugly for you guys which is what they say they need to do. I don't understand that bit The car in the pics was made in Japan by a styling studio for Holden, you guys are going to get our utes but for some reasons they wont be called utes?
Nicole as to the steering wheel what I like is the flat bottom and the led rev limiter lights, I would never use that style wheel on a 928, also I design and make things for a living as such I am very sensitive to making changes, if you don't like the work done to my car so far, well fair enough you won't like the rest but if you like the lightweight Carrera wheels and the GT3 splitter of which I was first to fit these to a 928 anywhere in the world, you may end up liking the side exhausts rear diffuser and the steering wheel, just look at Paul Champagne's work with the Pasha leather, I absolutely love that, must admit as much as I love that I dislike the Ostrich. So well see but I am very concious of your point.
Sterling it wont be side pipes, no way will that happen, it will be like the Monaro, side exit exhausts with the skirt. If you guys read some of the links I provided the underbody is a critical thing and the styling change to make it really effective is necessary. Just look at the McLaren SLR, the other cars with big downforce are all rear engined because it it easier to make them that way, the Ferrari 599 and 612 are not as good because they don't have a proper flat floor. The reason for me doing this is really just a styling and to see if it will look good. Just like why climb that mountain over there.

All this stuff is great Greg. The rear bumper and shape of the rear of the 928 seems like it would work really well with the diffuser system.

Nick I would like to buy that Holden but I know I can't afford it. The last special Monaro they built had a 7 litre engine dry sumping special suspension, Harrop brakes you name it it had it, when I saw it at the Sydney Motor Show I thought that is going to beat my "Super Porsche" Anyway they never built it, it had a cost of about $300K Aud and they wouldn't make money on it. So when it didn't go into production it was a one off just like this one. The last "one off" sold for over $900K.

The butt in the air look is butt ugly.... I rode in the big Audi S-5 coupe?? V-8 manual trans all wheel drive yesterday at Willow Springs streets track . It was pretty fast and looked MUCH like that Holden but without the drag racer jacked up rear end .
