Well, once more back into the fold.....she goes in to Pcar dealer for PPI on 20th...
What kind of mods should I do? Chip? Etc etc. what about the shifter...I'm thinking of doing something like an Fcar- gate, polished lever and shift ball, anyone ever do anything similar?

Congratulation! Nice looking ride.

Looks like an 85-86 (Canadian spec?), so the best mods are AA chip and x-pipe. An RMB may be desirable for sound enhancement. May be too loud with the X. Supercharging is the ultimate.

However, for my 86.5, I found the best initail mods were to get everything up to snuff. I discovered three vacuum lines under the intake either incorrectly connected or not connected to anything - just sucking air. Fixing that all but solved a tranny problem I've had for a while and improved gas mileage. Other small things I've fixed or replaced have had a cummulative effect on performance.

Not sure from the angle, but it looks like your motor mounts are sitting low. The PPI will probably give you some other areas to fix/replace. Take care of those things + the above mods and then you can start on asthetics. Not sure how much you need AC (are you in Canada or Mexico), but that is a whole different scenerio.

I know I've forgotten something...

Thanks! AlthoughI shouldn't be counting chickens until they hatch, etc etc. PPI will tell all, and Pfaff has a pretty good rep as far as I can tell. The owner seems to be pretty forthcoming with info on the car....
I'm actually in Saudi currently. Split my vacation time between Canada and Mexico. The car will drive between both! (Hopefully!) I will only get to use her for about 6 weeks out of the year....Oh well!
Mechanicals are the priority- but I stupidly started looking for 'Wheels" strings, and then of course that got me thinking....I would like the change the shifter, as the first 928 (84) the oem shifter was like having a 18 wheeler under hand. Ok so it wasn't that bad, but hey, shiny is good!
after she gets sorted I will plonk the wheels on, then chip....did I mention that I won't get to see her first hand until Aug?
Haven't even turned the key and Im changing stuff....

Looks like it is in excellent condition cosmetically.

First on the list would be a short shifter and maybe new front ball cup.

After that the wheels!
