Default Finishing my 86 engine.

Since mid April I have been layed off due to lack of work. It has been a blessing for my 86. I have been working on the engine for what seems an eternity. I got the last of the machine work finished and started to organize the finish of the reconstruction. I am having a problem with the special tools to put the heads together. I want to try to fabricate what I cannnot rent or buy after market. Can any one help with the tools? If you are in the Leesburg Va. area and want to turn a wrench or just watch, PM me and I'll let you know when I am working on the shark.

Thanks,

Bill

Hey there Bill,

What tools are you lacking, I am guessing you're needing tools for putting the valves, guides and spring assemblies back together. Everything else I have when I can find them. Let me know if I can help out, this weekend is bad as is the following but after that I may be able to lend a hand. Be more specific on the tools thing cause there are quite a few of us locals and that makes for a lot of tools.

Thanks Michael, I guess I need to be more specific, most of the tools are specific to installing the cams and setting the timing: #9226 cam installation tools, 9233 & 9234 cam seal installation tools and the VW 387 Gauge holder I am trying to fabricate some of them however renting or borrowing will be quicker.
I have PorKen's tool as well as the Kemph tensioner and metric dial guage and the 9232 inset.
I have started ordering the final parts from DR.
