Thank you all again...This is truely an amazing group and I'm proud to be a part of it

As for my next career, I'll keep you posted. For now, I think we're going to try to relax and take some time for ourselves. We'll be mobile starting in June and should try to settle in at our next location by July.

So does that mean you're coming to SITM? I can't imagine you have a valid excuse not to...

Thanks to all that have pitched in so far. WOW! Your guys are the best.

Im now happy to report that a set of new Service Covers are on the way for Darien also. Big shout out to Rog at 928sRus for the covers and his contribution

Sincere thanks from myself.
Im sure Darien will chime in as well. The covers are(were) a suprise too. These were 2 items i know he wanted at some point.

Friday is the "official" cermony at Nellis. I'll snag some pics if i can.

Well it all went off with out a hitch.

Thanks so much guys for your contributions

He got his GTS mirrors, a set of fender covers and i picked up a card for him that is signed for you all. ( I also signed the stuffed animal )

Anyway, some pics. What an amazing airplane. Until you get up close and study it, you really cant appreciate it.

My favorite is the one i will call "Flags"
Old time flag mirrors with a flag that will always be timeless

Very proud and honored to have witnessed the proceedings Darien, thanks

Thanks for the sticky Randy

Thanks for your service Darien.

Here's a tip, watch that "taking a year off" thing.. my house and car to do list's have really gotten out of control... but I'm happy with it because so many years have been spent away.

You would think Internet Brands could at least get a crisp salute icon..

Tony and Darien,
First - Tony, thanks again for posting this retirement "virtual party" for Darien. I LOVE the "two flags" picture you took. That is a classic for me!!

Darien, Thanks again for your service to us and our country. I'm sure you had a great career, and are now ready to go to a second one. I was particularly pleased to see the picture of your (now previous) plane. I was privileged about 20 years ago to manage a group of engineers who developed some of the components used in the hottest section of the compressor in the P & engines for that plane. They were made using a very high temperature organic polymer in composite materials that were very difficult to mold and produce. The whole development process was a great working relationship for our group and the engineers at P&W. Glad the engine never let you down!!! - ha.

Cheers,

Gary Knox

PS: See you both at SITM - I hope

Just saw the pics... Wow! Very cool! Thanks to Tony for putting this together. Hopefully Darien will still have access to some of that insane technology in his next adventure.

Cheers,
