Scam? GTS 14500 San Antonio
#16
I think the term Scam is being thrown around a bit much. This guy writes a terrible ad, but it can be assumed you call, he shows you the car, and if you like it you buy it. Sure he doesn't know crap about the car and list no details, but thats not a scam, its an idiot trying to sell a car, there are a ton of em, this one just happens to be selling some sort of 928.

BPG_Austin, I emailed hiim as well. We will see. The pictures are messed up.
I am local and would be happy to go take a look see. I will have some time tomorrow to check it out.
I will call him later today if I do not receive emails. I will followup and will post any findings.

Sounds good Parker, keep us posted. To clarify, I wanted to reitrate my first post stating that I'm NOT interested in this car, mearly passing along the info incase someone wants to pursue this GT or whatever it is. Parker, all yours from here if you choose to respond. I'll post his response if I get one. Thanks!

"Great rare/original investment... If you want to be a victim call 210-689-1694.
2nd picture is a body kit that is available.
3rd picture is a door hinge kit available.
Add a supercharger and have a reliable/crazy 480 HP plus fun!
Let give this Nigerian scam artist the benefit of the doubt shall we. Who will be first calling the disconnected phone?

It's a FREE Craigslist ad. The guy's an idiot. He paid way too much for the car, realized that it needs too much work for what he's budgeted, and now he's trying to get more than it's really worth to some other poor sucker.

He's hoping for someone to just send him some money and ship it, if he even has it.
He can afford a 928, but not a $100 digital camera?
Bet he will not respond to the guys that said they lived locally and wanted to come see the car.
Can anyone read that license plate? Doesn't look like Texas. Does Texas require front plates?

I don't understand all the huh bub here. A 1990 S4 automatic with 170,000 miles, a few interior problems, a few dings in the body......... you know, garden variety high mileage used up S4.
Worth about $12,000. to $14,000.
Pretty imaginative ad, considering the hard facts of the car itself, probably wouldn't get as much attention.

One factory Strosek brochure picture bottom left, top right picture could be my car which I bought in Florida! Maybe the top left is the actual car.
Looks like they are trying to show how cool the 928 is.

As of now no email response and no return call to my call. I did try to find the location from the voice mail message and drove by there. Nothing. However, the message stated "Presidental Pools and Spa Construction Office" and I checked out the Presidental Polls and Spa location. Probably are different locations and an employee.
We will see what we find out tomorrow.
I believe that the plates shown in the #1 photo are Cali plates. I am one who likes a mystery and would love to find a gem. However, I know that this is more than likely not a gem. As far as Nigerian Scam, we'll see. Most of us south Texans are not that smart.
EDIT - I am sorry about my avatar. I will change in the next few days
If anyone hears from this poster on craigslist please let me know. I have time in the next few days to see the true facts.

The first picture (top left) was a '91 s4 california car that was on ebay early last summer. It was sold and subsequently totaled out in early November and is sitting in pieces and parts at one of the dismantlers in Virginia, Parts Heaven, I believe. That photo and pictures of the totaled car is in the '91 MY section of the 928 registry. This thing is a pure scam! You'd think the illiterate schmuck would at least make sure he spelled "Porshe" correctly. LOL Why waste any time chasing it down? Paul Barrera '91 $$$$4
