Default Problem gone, no hesitation !

It wasn't the MAF. I was on the phone with Kevin Michael last night until almost midnight trying to figure this thing out. We figured out it was a huge vacuum leak, ( vacuum was under 10) so I dug around under the airbox and found the 7-Way Splitter with only 3 lines connected, checked the WSM and reattached the lines correctly.

One of the 2 lines top left on the splitter (e-f) had to be capped off. I couldn't find the line (will check again tonight). But Vacuum is good now, and the transmission shifts like butter. No more clunking and hard shifts. Also, no more hesitation. Next step SUPERCHARGING !

Extra thanks to Kevin Michael for all his help, and for the awesome ride in the Supercharged S4 when I came to Gettysburg. Not sure if it was the super smooth idle the car had even with the extreme amount of power, or my chest caving in during the 30 to 110mph rolls in well under 6 seconds. But, either way I set new goals for my 86.5

That's awsome!

I just corrected misconnected/unconnected vacuum lines in my 86.5. Did not notice much acceleration increase, but the tranny shifts much better.

Where did you check to come up with "the vacuum was under 10"?

Hey Derrick. I tried to call tonight, but I see it seems you fixed the 928. Cool! Oh, and I'm glad you enjoyed those pulls we did in my shark. The 30- 110 pull certainly felt that fast, but I will have to G-tech it tomorrow to be sure. One thing is for sure though, 12 psi of intercooled boost and the right fueling is freakin fast!!

Excellent news Derrick! Much better than needing a new or rebuilt MAF. Clean the MAF anyway, using CSC MAF cleaner, and you may notice additional gains. Can't wait to see your car - I sense a fun run comming up soon with the locals!
