It wasn't the MAF. I was on the phone with Kevin last night until almost midnight trying to figure this thing out. We figured out it was a huge vacuum leak, ( vacuum was under 10) so I dug around under the airbox and found the 7-Way Splitter with only 3 lines connected, checked the WSM and reattached the lines correctly.
One of the 2 lines top left on the splitter (e-f) had to be capped off. I couldn't find the line. Vacuum is good now, and the transmission shifts like butter. No more clunking and hard shifts. Also, no more hesitation. Next step SUPERCHARGING !
Extra thanks to Kevin Michael for all his help, and for the awesome ride in the Supercharged S4 when I came to Gettysburg. Not sure if it was the super smooth idle the car had even with the extreme amount of power, or my chest caving in during the 30 to 110mph rolls in well under 6 seconds. But, either way I set new goals for my 86.5
