Default Should i buy this 928?

I am currently looking at a 1984 928 5 speed w/ 120,000 miles. the car is in good running condition engine wise and cosmetically it is not bad either. however the current owner has told me that the transmission bearings need to be replaced. how hard is tit to replace them, and how much would it cost? I do not know much about 928s but this looks like it could be a good deal for $2,400.

Transmission bearings? Is that like blinker fluid?

I could see the Torque tube being replaced for about $1k, other than that, how's the interior?

better make sure he didn't mean syncros.... that can be pricey as the trans has to be rebuilt.

They are great cars, but if you have to do interior work that can be very expensive and a real PITA to do. Same is true of mechanical things. If you get one that needs several mechanical issues fixed it could well cost more than the value of the car. If you have electrical gremlins then RUN AWAY FAST!!!

Good luck,
