FWIW, I have been running 19s for over 2 years with no issues. Sure it does ride a little stiffer (which I like on my Euro), but it also handles a little tighter also.

265-30 fronts and 315-25 rears and they are right at the 25" factory spec.

We are trying to help. You want a wheel/tire set-up that gives you a good handling car that you can drive aggressively without rubbing. You need to be a good consumer and haul a$$ in your 928, because of all the time and money that will get sucked into it.
You up in NH? There are a bunch of us down in MA and you will see us in '08 at the 928 gtg's.
Don't be a stranger!
Carl
p.s. it really does take a while to truly understand the quirkiness of finding a good wheel for the 928.

What's the matter? Posted your pics on a public forum and when someone makes a negative comment you get all wound up? These rims are down right ugly on a 928, they were designed to fit the lines of an SUV (it's bulky).

Post a pic from the back so we can see how far the rims stick out past the edge of the tire.

Hang in there. This is the same BS we were hearing when people went from 17's to 18's. "Porsche never endorsed running 18's on a 928." Push the envelop. I'm sure it won't be long before 19's are the norm. However there is some good constructive criticism to heed on correct tire sizes.

...and take better quality pics if you can. It's difficult to imagine how cool the wheels look, or how well they actually fit, when the phone photos are crummy and distorted.

From the pics and comparing them to DRs 19" wheels, i think it comes down to wheel design/style. The 19's look almost oversized and "hotwheelish" on your car, yet on DR they look perfect...dunno..thats how i see it in the pics? Perhaps its the one color..one piece look of the rim your using?

I think the wheels look great on the 928 but the tires sidewalls are throwing off the look.

Where in ME do you live? I used to live up near Augusta and I know one other guy who's on this forum that lives in that area. Also where did you find your car? As Carl mentioned, we hope to see you make the trip down to MA and NH for a few of the events!

Dude.....its your car! Who cares what others think "looks" right. If YOU think it looks great then so be it. I think its more my age than anything. I like a softer ride and the ultra low profiles you would have to use on 19" would be hard on the old man.

Part of what I think some people judge as "looking right" has to do with the phenomenon that with a 928, if it doesn't "look" right, then it probably isn't right. And if it isn't right, then it will either ride bad, track every groove in the road, steer weird, rub on the inside, rub on the outside, or turn like ****.

The other part of "looking right" has to do with proportions, which I guess is subjective.
I'm an a$$ man myself.

There is a guy that lives near me with some decent-looking Kenisis rim he was running on a Boxter S.

The current rubber is 235/35r19 front. 265/35r19 rear. How do these sound as far as diameter or overall height?

I need to find out the offsets. How similar are 928 vs 987 as far as suspension geometry?

I have 235/35 on front and 265/30 on rear. Diameter is fine. Speedometer is accurate, no rubbing and no fender rolling needed.
I'd have to go through the paper work to find the offsets as the previous owner installed them.

I like the way the look, but after 11 years I'm sick of dealing with 19s. Can't tell you how many times I've made u-turns to avoid road construction or took long detours where I know there's construction going on...or just avoiding bad roads in general. Then there's the cringe factor each time you hit a pothole you didn't notice.

My next set of wheels will be 17". Probably next year as my tires will be at least 12 years old.
