Thanks to all agian for the great input,
I finally got around to work on it. I got the pan drain plug open and drained all the fluid that came out.
Now it does not look like the fluid I am about toput back in. The new fluid Valvoline Max Life, clear and red (somewhat like cranberry juice) and the old murky brown. Towards the end of the drain process I drained some off in a shot glass and I can't see through it. Looks pretty bad.
My thought was now to simply refill the fluid, run it for a few days. Sort of a flush. And then drain it again, drain the torque converter and change the filter.
And then hopefully have a clean and clear fluid in there.
I guess it won't hurt, no?
regards,
Sab.
