Default RDK wheel sensor

I have a bad RDK sensor in my drivers side (D90) wheel. Where can I obtain a replacement sensor and how does one replace the old one ?

If the sensor is still avaiable from Porsche I can supply it.
It may be cheaper to buy a used one from someone on the board.
I can check price & availbility tomorrow.
Best,
Roger

Front or rear? The rear D90's have/had a 3 bar (44psi) sensor while the fronts have a 2.5 bar sensor. IIRC the bar value is embossed on the tan face of the sensor. All the Cup rims with RDK have 2.5 bar sensors, front and rear, so they'd theoretically be more abundant.
They're held in with a threaded ring, and of course there's a special 4 or 5-pin socket to undo it. But you can proabably get it off with a bigass channel-lock pliers. The little plastic cover over it (928.361.201.02) will proabably break while you try to take it off (just twists off, snaps back in place). They're made of the same plastic that Bosch uses in their engine sensor connectors. There's also an o-ring in/on the sealing face (999.707.035.40) that you'll want to replace.

BTW, how do you know you have a bad one (unless if has obvious damage?)

They have a whole box of them at 928Intl. The bad news is that they're hideously expensive ($350+ new at 928GT.com) you could probably find a used wheel in bad cosmetic shape that has 2 sensors in it for less than one sensor would cost. I sold a set of 4 crappy D90's (with 8 working sensors in them....) last year for $300.

First try swapping the wheels to the opposite side; this to see if the problem is actually the wheel sensor and not something else in the RDK circuit.

When you get sick and tired enough of them, you'll throw the damn things away.

That's what I did! Fixed the problem very nicely.
